Hello Ira, unfortunately, to the people who were living there in 1896, or 1917, or 1948, the fact that there was a Jewish kingdom there, 3,000 years earlier, was completely irrelevant. From the perspective of these Palestinian Arabs, it seems like they were made to pay for the 2,000 years of antisemitism which had been carried out (mostly) by Europeans.
